It performs DNS MX record verification, SMTP handshake testing, and syntax validation to determine email deliverability.

For OSINT investigators, Email Checker is most valuable during target profiling when a suspect email address needs to be validated before being used as an investigative pivot point. Confirming that an email address is valid and deliverable establishes that it is an active account rather than a disposable or fake address, which affects how much investigative value it carries.

The tool's SMTP verification capability is the most informative component — it connects to the target mail server and queries whether the specific email address is recognized, without actually sending a message. This can reveal whether the account is active on the server even if the address has been recently registered or is not publicly indexed.

In fraud and social engineering investigations, email validation helps distinguish legitimate business email addresses from spoofed or lookalike addresses. Domain-level MX record checks reveal what email infrastructure a domain uses — legitimate enterprises typically use well-known providers or have their own mail servers, while fraud infrastructure often uses cheap or free email hosting.
